Summary of terms and conditions
- Must be over 18 years of age and must accept responsibility for being in charge of the event.
- Will be responsible for the supervision of the event.
- Will not use the premises for any other purpose than that described in the hiring agreement.
- Shall ensure that laws relating to gaming, betting and lotteries are not contravened.
- Shall obtain any licences that may be necessary except Performing Rights Society and Phonographic Performance licences that are already held by the Village hall Committee.
- Will comply with all Public Safety conditions and regulations as described in Section 6 of the full Standard Conditions.
- Is aware of the means of escape as described above and how all the doors open.
- Will be aware of what to do in the event of a fire and will call the Fire Brigade to any outbreak of fire no matter how small.
- Shall observe all food health and hygiene regulations. There are at least 2 people locally who have serious violent allergic reactions to traces of nuts and eggs.
- Shall ensure that any electrical appliances that he/she may bring will be safe to use and in good working order.
- Is liable for costs of any damage and claims as described in Section 11 of the full Conditions.
- Must report all accidents or dangerous occurrences involving the public to a member of the Village Hall Management Committee as soon as possible. In the first instance this should be the Secretary on 01229 773064. See Section 12 of the full conditions
- Will ensure that explosive and flammable substances are not brought onto or used in the premises.
- Will not use heating appliances that have not been authorized by the Management Committee
- Must ensure that there is no drunk and disorderly behaviour or use of illegal drugs.
- Will ensure that no animals are brought onto the premises except by pre-arranged agreement with the Management Committee.
- Must comply with the Children Act 1989 to ensure that only fit and proper persons have access to children. See Section 17 of the conditions.
- Will not carry out any fly posting or unauthorized advertising.
- Will comply with Fair Trading Laws if selling goods on the premises.
- Will ensure that children will be restricted from watching age-restricted films.
- Will, in the event of cancellation, be liable for a discretionary payment if deemed necessary. See Section 21 of the conditions.
- Will be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounding area in a clean and tidy condition.
- Ensure that there is a minimum of noise and disturbance to local properties and their residents.
- Must understand that the Village hall accepts no responsibility for any goods or property stored for the purposes of the hiring.
- Will not make alterations or additions to the premises including placards and decorations without the prior agreement of the Management Committee.
- Does not have permission to become a tenant or any other form of occupation.
- Will not permit any dangerous or sexually explicit performances.
- Ensure that the No Smoking rules are upheld.
